Breath of fresh air

I am sitting here typing on an Apple wireless keyboard to my phone. My phone now has the blogger app and somehow --after 10 tries and a meltdown- it just connected. So I have no idea which combination of passwords and emails it accepted but who cares! my computer cannot log in because google + has ruined my identities. I have an old identity (my main one,) a new identity and then something in between which the google + keeps trying to create by merging everything. it is so confusing. But praise be to God! I know it was a natural event, but it seemed so supernatural! I was praying and telling God I needed wisdom about the blog. should I just start up a new one? and what app? wordpress? tumblr? I went back to my phone to look at the defunct blogger app I had downloaded and tried over and over. Opened it and ---BOOM! It just connected!!! I don't know how and I am just thankful! AND the cool thing is that it will take photos from my phone effortlessly. so I will be able to get back to blogging and do less facebook. If people WANT to listen to me, they can check my blog. I don't think people have time for this anymore. Unless you are a great writer and very hip and funny----who has time to read you? we are busy scrolling! and that is me, too. but here I go. I will be putting my own thoughts out into the universe for Jesus and just the ones who want to bother with reading about all our God inspired efforts at Trinity in Kenya.

Our Progress

I hereby take this opportunity to get you through our accomplishments. Below is a summary of what we have covered for this week.
1.       Paul and I marked the end of the mid and evening classes by concluding with Internet and Email for their training. We thank God because this training is an eye opener for many who are hopefully looking forward to tap into technological opportunities in the world.
2.       Paul is knowledgeably getting the morning class through Microsoft Excel. This is a class full of focused teens with highly set goals.
3.       The leadership had a meeting to discuss about the school requirements for our children.
In this meeting we collected all that are needed by the children in reflection to their account balances.
4.       The leadership also brought heads together to ensure that the borehole building kicks off.
This is such beautiful blessing in this society and it is going to benefit so many people. As we all know water is source of life, this magnificently tales how important this project is to this poor community.
5.       The agricultural team is weeding up different vegetables in the farm. This is a time where vegetables are highly marketable. We have some rains and so it is so relevant to the vegetables plants so that when sunny season comes, we already have some vegetables for our children.
6.       We withdrew some funds for the smooth running of the organization.
7.       We had frequent meetings to encourage our staffs and motivate them to do job with passion and all of their energy. Our team has grown into unexpected levels and everybody in the team can do a number of things for tgd. This can't be taken for granted because all this is a result of your effort and other sponsors. My happiness is to see the staff grow into different talents and ability.
8.       The tailoring classes are on progress. This skill is so essential and it is going to ignite many people's performance and productivity in the society.
9.       We are still working on final touches in getting Jayden into our family.

Regards,
Erick.

I think we need to add this girl to our family….

She's a very bright, God fearing and visional who would like to be a Doctor and change the family status by educating the you sister and brothers. Her last year school performance was as follows 5/21, 2/21, 2/21 with a mean grade of (B-). Despite of all the challenges she's going through, having one meal a day or sometimes without, she managed to be among the top three in the present examination with the same Grade. Her mother who has been so sick for seven years passed away on Friday and burried on Sunday leaving this children with no other option but just staying in their house without any support but just praying. In her mother's funeral, we had an offering of 30 dollars for catering her school fees in secong term. She dire needs help.

Did I mention I love Jesus?

My blog log-in refuses to work. Yet I could post by sending these emails if I am determined. As it is, though, my options are extremely limited.

But no matter the limitations of technology, I am loving Jesus on this Holy Week. Without concern for pagan rituals and cultural habits- I look to God's Word to see Jesus revealed in the Bible. How grateful I am. How transformed. I am so glad He doesn't leave us to ourselves but redeems our lives and makes all things new.

All glory to Jesus. He came back to life and is still alive. I am eager to see Him come as He promised. And I pray as He told me, that I will be able to stamd on that Day, the great and terrible Day of the Lord!

Now is the time of God's Favor. Now is the day of salvation.

Seek righteousness, seek humility- that you may be sheltered on that Day.

All who call on the name of the Lord will be saved.

Pastor Joseph from India

Hi Stephanie,
I want to take this opportunity to let you know that we were highly blessed to receive Bishop's friend from India. He is known as Pastor Joseph. Pastor Joseph can be said to be a man of God with great Biblical knowledge. He had some good time with us; he talked to our computer students together with the stuff about the zeal to read a bible. He used a computer to demonstrate in his sermon, Pastor said that computers are prone to damages as a result of viruses and equally human beings normally get viruses that can damage our bodies. Some of viruses he mentioned in his demonstration are theft, rude, carelessness, hypocrisy, pride, selfishness among others.
Therefore, in this talk he said that the Bible is our antivirus that can wash many of our problems. It was a wonderful moment for us. He liked our leadership, arrangement and organization. He said that we are well organized, bold, loving and caring. I am so excited about what is God is doing to make us international people. God has blessed us to an extent of mingling and free interacting with people from different countries and caliber with handful of issues. God promotes the one at the bottom to be the top; He blesses the poorest with richness. Him who blessed Abraham is able to bless anyone who respects and adheres to His rules.
The session ended when everyone wanted a continuation. A closing prayer from Pastor Joseph marked the end of our short meeting.
Regards,
Erick

Nutrition Team meets at Health Centre

Hi Stephanie,

We had an amazing full of activities revolving around in all the
departmental level

On the health and nutrition department, we finally made an effort to pay the
health and nutrition specialist at Emusanda Health Centre Mr.
James who had just reported today from a week long seminar he had been
attending. We thank God for this golden opportunity since securing an
appointment with him was quite challenging since most of his time he is
always out doing some health services outreach to the community on behalf of
the health center. I was accompanied by our health and nutrition team
comprising of Judy, Carol and Sharon. We had an interactive session which
was very vital to us. The team took notes on the basic understanding of what
health and nutrition is about and he even further explained the complex
concept involving the giving out of information to the community which posed
as a challenge. He encouraged us of the benefits of having this knowledge
and he also gave Judy an insight of how she could go about it in finding a
suitable nursing school. He emphasized to Judy to look for a nursing school
which is recognized by the government. He said this is due to emerging
trends in the medical fields whereby certain private entities are flooding
the market by providing some nursing practice which the government doesn't
recognize. The visit was joyful and we thanked God for the information he
shared with us and promised to squeeze his busy schedule to meet our needs
in future just in case we needed the information. I was able to take some
photos which I have attached to this mail.

On training department, I handled the most loved course which is Internet
and emailing. This is the last course for our morning class and they are
winding up their lesson on Monday next week. The lesson was so interactive
since I was able to face a lot of questions concerning the internet. I also
took the initiative of showing the class our website and also our Facebook
page. I encouraged the class to like our page after giving them a chance to
browse. By look of things, you will agree with me the Facebook likes have
increased in the past two days. The class was encouraged with what we do and
who we are basing on the things they saw on the internet. We are also having
an ongoing intake which will take the morning slot place. Despite the fact
we didn't gave out the official date of the intake activity to take place
which is next week on Monday, we are receiving a good number of students
from all the corners of our county. The midmorning class and afternoon class
are still covering their third module course which is MS Excel. The team
spirit on the training department is so essential since we are able to
deliver to the community the very best knowledge in IT field.

With rainy weather kicking off, things are looking great on the garden
department. The leadership team met with Wellington and we encouraged him to
put more efforts on anything he is doing. He has then showed great potential
and together with Brian, they are now preparing land for planting seedlings
and also adding more seedling nurseries to boost the variety of seeds we
will be having on our garden.

As a team we made it possible for the newsletter to be sent on time. I have
also been checking and re reading the articles which were to be submitted to
you for creativity purposes and checking on the typos.

I have also been monitoring and constantly checking our machines and
equipment at our TGD building. They are well maintained so far by making
sure dusting is always done in the morning.

We have also been meeting as leadership team in counter checking with Henry
on financial records so as all of us we are clear on every transactions
taking place and all records being kept safely.

We are encouraging each other and boosting our team work so as to meet the
organizational vision and mission.

Regards and having a blessing weekend,

Don Adrian

February Distribution

Derrick shared this good word with me:

I thank GOD because the day started on a good note. Our staff arrived on time and started preparing for the day by cleaning the room and arranging chairs.

From eight before the arrival of our sponsored children Brian, Carolyn and Carolyn went to the garden to pinch different variety of vegetable for our sponsored children to receive for the benefit of their health.  They were transported by Brian.

Judith started to register our sponsored children by checking on their health and sanitation. She more examine the hair, nails and encourage them to cut short.

From there, our sponsored children moved to another step where Sharon and Carolyn were taking their stories.

When their stories had been taken, they moved to a games room where toys of different type arranged well on the table by Eunice and Caroline. They taught our sponsored children on how to make their name from missed letters and asking them the name of the animals.

Brian introduced the children to music by teaching them how to sing and dance with them using a guitar. The children enjoyed the music.

26 sponsored children who received seedling of sukuma wiki, carrots and Black nightshade. They also received vegetable of different type e.g. spider plant, Jew mallow, Amaranth and sukuma wiki. I and Brian taught them how to plants and due the bucket which they haven't seen, there attention was attracted highly by show of everyone to be the first to do the practical. The bucket hold ten seedlings and is portable from one place to another.

Beverlyn's families was out of reach and Mary didn't show up. We promise to make sure that the item reaches Beverlyn's family.

The Health and Nutrition team distributed item to Truphosa and Fredrick. we hope the change in a balance diet will improve his health in Jesus name.

Walter Got a Goat and also got chicken together with Grace and Ben.  They were very happy to receive them.

I took the leadership team to the guardian, we introduced ourselves and started the speeches from Don, Erick, Henry and later me. I greeted them in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. I told them that we love them and also they are of a good importance to the community for caring our children. In a humbly way with a good tone, I requested them that I have a word to share with them. I told the due to mismanagement that was there, it has brought the organization to have some changes. Now everyone was quite eagerly to hear. I humbly told them that, now the changes we have is that we will only be paying school and only have four distributions per year. I asked them a question that between food and education what will we consider?  They all shouted education. I told them that I'm not cooking stories for them but this report is from our beloved Mama Stephanie and we have nothing we can do. Now report from now is to appreciate you paying school fees for their children and distribute whatever you have. They said that they will pray for you for God to open your way and give you long live for God to use you to serve their community. They left the room with a happy face and encouraged and i thank GOD for that.

Photography team took the photos and possibly will be submitted to you on Monday.

Henry gave them a transport to those from far and the parent went. We finished our distribution at noon but when Bishop came exited the time to almost 2:00pm.

I thank my team for their great job for the success of the day. May God bless them all and bless those who donated funds towards our sponsored children.

Regards,
Derrick.

So far they are making tremendous progress especially with the fact that they have constantly been having meetings and brainstormed on various teaching aids they were reading. After the discussion with the leadership team, we agreed to streach out their experience on the field. Shoes: Sharon and Vivian pictures

Praise God for shoes. How many pairs do you have? Now consider how many pairs these girls have. We are thankful to be able to give them an increase!

Numbers fun at TGD

Just thought I’d share a bit of what I sort through for our children.

I remember each August as we got our children ready for school.

Nowadays that seems so profoundly easy, simple and straightforward.

The sheer numbers of our Kenyan children mean lots and lots of errands and counting.

Love motivates us!

I appreciate the team caring for our children! Let us do our part here and they will do their part there.

I’ve spared you the spread sheet but will happily send it to any interested readers.

Child Donor Expense list January 2014

Hi Stephanie,

Kindly go through the Child Donor Expense List for January 2014 as per attachment. Below this mail,I have shown the details of schools main requirements both in primary and high school.

In  column G, the amount paid in January, includes all the payments related to school. This includes fees, uniform, shoes and other school requirements. This make the fee paid in January higher than the fee for 1st semester. In high school children, I have included administration costs in payments but in primary, I left out together with general monthly supplies.

In column H, the fee for primary school 1st semester includes lunch program of beans and maize. The fee for high school children is as per the fee structure but for those who joined high school and boarding section, like Vallary and Moses, the fee includes admission costs like mattresses, blankets, boxes tuition money and other things already purchased. Jane and Vivian are in the same school but the fee is different. This is because Jane is a candidate and has extra fee levies like examination registration and other assessment exams.

In column I, the fee for high school includes items purchased in February like text books for Alice and shoes for other children, Sharon inclusive.

The other expenses like food stuff, medical , clothing and personal items are not included anywhere but we can include in column Kin the  later report.

Apart from the school fees both for primary and high schools, we have grouped school requirements as shown below:

                                High school requirements per year

Uniform 2 pairs                100

Sweater  1 pair                   15

Shoes  2 pairs                      50

Text books (at minimum)  40

Socks    6 pairs                      15

Calculator                              10

Log table                                  6

Photocopy papers 6 reams 45

Geometrical set                     6

Spring files                             12

Pocket money                       30

Administration                     30

Total                                     360

These are the main key requirements not including admission costs for students joining new schools.

                                Primary school requirements per year

Feeding program              30

School package                 15

Uniform 2 pars                  30

School sweater 1 pair       15

School shoes 2 pairs          40

Socks 6 pairs                       15

Total                                   145

These are the main requirements for primary schools not including food stuff, medication clothing and other monthly related items.

There are other requirements in some schools that may occur during the year both in primary and high school like study tours and agricultural shows which ranges from 25 for high school and 15 for primary every year. I have not included this on the report.

I  will be waiting to hear from you for any changes to make.I can also fill the remaining column with your approval of the other columns.

Have a blessed day,

Henry.

Treasure God's Word!! Inspiring

Praise God that this tribe welcomed the Word of God with joy in their hearts.

10 minutes for those who love God's Word. I could barely see through my tears of joy!

How thankful I am that my heart is eager for His Word!

His Table in the Wilderness

PSALM 78 But they continued to sin against him,
rebelling in the wilderness against the Most High.
18 They willfully put God to the test
by demanding the food they craved.
19 They spoke against God;
they said, “Can God really
spread a table in the wilderness?
20 True, he struck the rock,
and water gushed out,
streams flowed abundantly,
but can he also give us bread?
Can he supply meat for his people?”
21 When the Lord heard them, he was furious;
his fire broke out against Jacob,
and his wrath rose against Israel,
22 for they did not believe in God
or trust in his deliverance.
23 Yet he gave a command to the skies above
and opened the doors of the heavens;
24 he rained down manna for the people to eat,
he gave them the grain of heaven.
25 Human beings ate the bread of angels;
he sent them all the food they could eat.

Table in the Wilderness by Russ Taff: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0eEE5WUzjoA

Lyrics:

There's a table in the wilderness
Where the blind can see and the poor possess
Where the weak are strong and the first one's last
There's a table in the wilderness

There's a table in the wilderness
Where the blessed sing of His tenderness
Where the lame can walk and the weary rest
At the table in the wilderness

When you search so hard for the Promised Land
But the earth won't yield to your blistered hands
And you hang your head and you wipe your brow
And you shout it out, shout it out

There's a table in the wilderness
Where the blind can see and the poor possess
Where the weak are strong and the first one's last
There's a table in the wilderness
There's a table in the wilderness

When you close your eyes kneeling by your bed
All the working hours spinning through your head
You remember the place that your heart desires
Where you found your life, you'll found life

At the table in the wilderness
Where the blind can see and the poor possess
Where the weak are strong and the first one's last
There's a table in the wilderness

There's a table in the wilderness
Where the blind can see and the poor possess
Ever thankful for being honored guests
At the table in the wilderness

There's a table in the wilderness
(There's a table, a table in the wilderness)
There's a table in the wilderness

There's a table, a table in the wilderness
(All is welcome)
There's a table, a table in the wilderness
There's a table, a table in the wilderness
(Living water)

There's a table, a table in the wilderness
(Come find life, come find peace, come find rest)
There's a table, a table in the wilderness
There's a table, a table in the wilderness

There's a table, a table in the wilderness
There's a table, a table in the wilderness
There's a table, a table in the wilderness

Jesus movie shown at Cornerstone Sunday School

Erick's report

Our week began so well having said a word of prayer in the morning. We divided ourselves in groups, Don and Brian took Vallary to school for joining, Henry and Derrick went through the accounts/Children's narratives, Judith and the team taught computer classes and Paul and I took Lillian at Bumamu Secondary school.

We visited the school and warmly welcomed by the school secretary and the teacher on duty. It is a good school and they all observe discipline as the basis of their academic excellence.  Their mission is molding young people/teens into highly productive folks. I believe Lillian is greatly going to change her life and focus most on Jesus and secondly look at being an outstanding academic hero.We went through the items recommended for her by the school and verified or confirmed what we had bought as per their school calling letter. Lucky enough, she had all it takes for her to join the school. This left her happy and praising God for such big blessings.

Lillian's happiness could not be stopped and this was seen by her cute smiles throughout the journey to her secondary school. I know that she is going to act as the backbone of her family and she is going to uplift and help the family spiritually, morally and even financially. She has a reason to smile looking at the opportunity God has granted her/ going to school and yet we have so many children who admire to get such chances but they don't.

I know she can optimistically use this golden chance well and become much productive because her potential is beyond what people can see. She is going to beat down all village challenges and become a blessed one of Jesus.

We are planning to visit Alice, Repha, Truphosa etc. this week and check on their progress and if possible facilitate their needs

I bless her sponsor and pray for her to have long life so that the sponsorship can leave this girl at a good point.

God Bless you!

Erick.
