All Media and Life

How I wish I had a broad audience so I could promote this blog post:

http://www.desiringgod.org/blog/posts/12-questions-to-ask-before-you-watch-game-of-thrones

I consume a limited diet of TV/Movies/DVDs. As such, I am not de-sensitized to the alarming level of immorality and nudity that pervades everything- even soap and lotion ads in magazines and billboards use nude women and couples in showers. Then there are women in bikinis leaving little to the imagination in ads everywhere on counters, walls, envelopes in the mail - it is unending and disappointing. Then there are photos on facebook. My own children, even.

Morality will not help- that is just The Law. Which kills, judges, and condems. But the love and sacrifical forgiveness of Jesus redeems and transforms at the motive level- heart change!

Jesus died to set us free from the urge to flaunt or view. He is lovely, holy and pure. And reaches out to the broken and dirty with New Life!

Well for Jayden

Please pray for the Lord to help us reach water on our third well! We are at more than 55 feet and there was supposed to be water there by now, according to the engineers. We want Jayden’s family to have the utmost ease in gathering life giving water daily. All area families must draw their daily water for washing, cooking, bathing, gardening and their livestock. Can you imagine? NO! We truly cannot. We can picture in our minds maybe one trip to a well, but consider if you had to walk a mile for 5 gallons when you needed 10 for that day. And then next day you will need it again. And the next day you will need it again. And the next day you will need it again. How much time does it take daily and how do you feel each day when you get up? Is every day a good day to walk four miles with two of them loaded down with water? Now consider months, years, decades. Give God thanks that you have a faucet in your house! And most of us do not have to treat that water for our variety of uses. Maybe we purify some for our drinking, but otherwise, no. Pray that this well brings life giving water! Lord, we thank You for this wonderful gift of a well. Thank you for helping us reach the water, in Jesus name.

Our Own Shaline

This is our own sponsored child, Shaline, up the chalk board reciting English words as she leads the class. Ray and Debbie Booher sponsor Shaline and make her life brighter! Thank you, Jesus!

Getting supplies to teachers

It turned out the teachers were not getting any pay. Not from the government and not from some who were sponsoring them. We were able to bless them with something to get them through the month, along with giving supplies for the classrooms. Later, we also gave 10 bibles to the school so that each classroom could have two.

This photo epitomizes the school at Ebulechia

I love this photo. It looks like what we really see. I wish you could be there.

Preach it!

Please pray! Currently, they have dug below 55 feet and have not hit water yet. The other well only had to go to about 30 feet. The engineers tested and believed that the water would be in this spot. May God give us WATER and we thank Him for it, in Jesus name.

School time in Kenya

LOADS OF PHOTOS at Ebulechia

At the risk of overloading the blog—I wanted to send a big bunch of the great day. Christa, Jack, Mychaela and I all shared the Word of God and then Christa gave out 109 pairs of shoes and we identified many children in need of fungal medicine for their ringworm infections on their heads. We gave out cookies and a piece of candy to all the children and then even some adults.
