1 Samuel 8:5 "Look", they told him, "You are now old, and your sons are not like you. Give us a king to judge us like all the other nations have." (NLT). Is this email not displaying correctly?

Welcome!
Samuel was shocked that the Israelites were rejecting the one true king (God) who had proven his trustworthiness to them from time to time and demanding for a human king. And even the reason why they wanted a king was the most discouraging, they wanted to be like all other nations around them. They did not ask Samuel for a solution; they told Samuel what their solution was. It's easy to slip into a quiet rebellion-going about life in our own way. It is true that the people were in dilemma during that time because Samuel was getting older and his children were not credible. But what could have been appropriate response of the people in that situation? The people could have sought an answer from God patiently through prayer.

In our efforts to maintain control in our own lives, we often make decisions based upon our own assessment of a situation, rather than rely upon God. And in most cases we give up so quickly on God and pursue our own solutions. We only tend to turn to God only after things get so out of control that there is no place else to turn. The Israelites made a choice to reject God and instead preferred having a human king to solve their problems. God was just enough to grant them their request. But we get to learn what would happen to a society or a family if it separates itself from God's guidance. Often we desire for ourselves that which is not in our best interest, and though it is against God's ultimate will for our lives, God will implement His permissive will that allows us to have our own way. The result is suffering the consequences of our rebellion against God, and through it, God can teach us a lesson. The truth is that we often get into trouble by wanting to be like the world when we should instead be transformed into the image of Jesus Christ (Romans 12:1-2). Israel leant a hard lesson later because of this request.

Which choices have you made in your life? Have you given up on God just because He is taking too long to answer your prayers? Or are you striving to emulate and compare yourself with the people around you? I pray that you will pursue to be transformed to the image of Christ. The time comes when you have to choose who or what will control you. The choice is yours. Will it be God, your own limited personality, or another imperfect substitute? Once you have chosen to be controlled by God's spirit, reaffirm your choice every day.
Ebola watch
Eight months down the line, the Ebola crisis has gradually graduated to a global concern. With its dense effect felt in the western African countries of Africa, it has been in the rise, breaking the continental borders into the neighboring continents too.
The locally confirmation here is, Ebola is not yet in Kenya and not a single case has been reported. This all the same has not kept the government from crusading a nationwide sensitization of what Ebola is, its symptomatic markers and preventive measures.  It has further assured its citizens of its alertness medically to curb Ebola if it is detected in and around the borders of the nation.
High fever, vomiting, bleeding from multiple body openings, loss of appetite for food among others, are a case of focus to watch for of this contagious disease. Although it rapidly executes its victims, it is a proven point that its killing guillotine can be contained and defeated once a healthy individual is sensitized of the symptoms and there after keeps off contact with the Ebola victims.
Nigeria's success in controlling Ebola from its borders should be a motivating spark towards the fight.  Located just at the center of this vicious enemy, Nigeria came out a champ, beating this ill-fated demon at its own game and restoring its borders the freedom from Ebola. Therefore, the world as a whole should borrow a leaf from Nigeria's boldness and together join forces to get rid of Ebola perpetually
It is our prayer to God that this deadly killer be contained, most especially in Liberia and other entangled West African nations, to curb its rapid spread to other parts of Africa and the world.

Christmas Christmas yet again!
Christmas 2014 is looming and as the Christian family all over the world brace themselves for the birth of Christ, at TGD we are taking a much wiser swing on our gifts!
This Christmas we are investing largely on schooling needs of our sponsored children since that's a sure way of bringing up a self-sustaining adult in the society.
It is all about Jesus, education, relationships and then the nitty-gritties of our lives.
Some of the items in focus are:
  • School uniforms(shoes and socks inclusive)
  • School bags
  • Exam registration fees
  • Tuition fees
  • Course books and stationery among other items.
We therefore welcome you to be part of this breathtaking move of giving towards this Christmas.
God bless you as you give to Him to help a needy child this Christmas!
Cheerful giving Cheerful Giving!
Jesus commands us to practice justice, mercy and faithfulness without neglecting to tithe on material blessings (Matt 23:23.) Jesus commands us to make disciples of all nations and teach obedience to all His commands. (Matt 28:20.) Therefore, this Christmas, Jack will be encouraging our sponsored children and their guardians on the blessings that come with putting God first in our hearts by obeying Him with our material resources (Malachi 3:10.) Freely we have been given, so freely we give (Matthew 10:7.) And with the measure we use, it will be measured to us (Luke 6:38.) Let all of us obey the Lord in generosity to those who are needy, in addition to tithing to the local church and giving offerings of joy from time to time. Showing God gratitude and trust means giving Him the first portion and trusting Him to make the rest go farther—and He CAN!

His hands
As we jingle our bells into the Christmas spirit, we can't help but acknowledge the joy of our achievements in Jesus Christ this year.
Despite all the challenges and obstacles the evil one keeps erecting in our course, Jesus has kept our anointed hands even more productive in service to Him and mankind at large. In his own words he sent out his disciples saying, "Go ye into all the earth, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved…"  Mark 16:15-16
Many keep coming to us and exiting better than they came in. For instance, most of our past computer students have landed prestigious jobs in leading firms, all thanks to God and their quality computer skills that rate them way better in contrast to their equals. They keep coming back in testimony and gratitude.
Also, many in the community are so thankful over the well dug and handed to them a few months ago. From their testimonies, they admit the truth that most of their water troubles are dwindled and are so thankful Christ sent us out to touch their lives.
These among so much more wouldn't be a reality without your involvement. His joining you to us has achieved all this glory for Him and thus making Jesus, you and us, the perfect team!

a vote of thanks

Last summer, Juma came on as a worker for TGD and within a year, he had gotten a better and higher paying job in Kisumu. Praise God! Give people a chance and see what they can do! God is working in all of us in so many ways. Give what you have and see what God does with your gift!

Hi Mama Stephanie.

Praise the Lord. I thank the almighty God for having enabled us to be alive this time. I also thank Him for He is the might maker of everything on the earth and space.

I take this time to appreciate the Trinity Global Development staff and all those who are in touch with the work of Trinity Global Development is doing in Kenya and abroad. I thank you too for having considered me as one of the Trinity Global Development staff to assist in one of the fields offered. For the patience and hard work I had, made the staff to choose on me. I give my great thanks to you Mama Stephanie for having accepted me to work together with the team.

I being chosen is a great thing because I have been one of the volunteers from the beginning of this year and I have been serving in different fields especially when it comes to the less fortunate children. Like on 1st of June 5, 2013 I participated in the raising of nursery beds. We raised sukumawiki, coriander, and black night shade and tomato seeds.  Last but not least I also participated in sowing of spider plant, cow peas and amaranthus.  I have enjoyed working with the fellow staff members.

May the Lord bless you and your family abundantly.

LUTOMI JUMA

HEARTFELT APPRECIATION

Here is an email from the past, but I wanted to underscore the importance of helping people developing their gifts and talents so they see what God can do through them and what He has given them. Just boosting their understanding of possibilities can go so far in shaping them for their future. Remember all those little events in your life that led you to where you are and how they shaped you. So many small events in childhood and young adulthood that helped you define what you enjoy and who you are. See if God will lead you to help others be encouraged about their gifts and talents. Even teach them what you know and watch what they can do! So many students can surpass their teachers if only people would share what they know. The little you DO know can turn into a powerful springboard for another. Share whatever you have! This is why you are given good things.

Dear Mama Stephanie,

Mama Stephanie, you came up with the writing competition request a week after I had just buried my dad. The day Don and Jack read to us what you needed us to write about was my first session after the funeral. Just maybe there wouldn't have been a better time for God to show how faithful he is than through you. That is why he made you come up with the idea of a contest. I just can't find words to say how I feel. I still couldn't believe that I was the winner despite having written that script at my lowest moment of my life. Thanks be to the most high almighty God.

I had never imagined my name, picture and story would one day appear on the blog (site) of any kind and especially that which belongs to God fearing people and people who upholds family values so much that they are here helping us and those orphans who cannot meet their daily needs. God bless you.

I'm so thankful to you, your family, members of the board and other people who read my story and made a decision that it was the five dollars winning script writing. Thanks a lot and God bless you too. I just can't find words to tell you how much I feel that you made me what I am today. I feel proud for you all.

I take this time to thank the following for their support in making my story the award winning writing, it is unbeatable to me that this is my life time achievement.

1.       God is the provider of life and everything we do is because of his power over us. And he knows the plans he has for every one of us. And he knows the plans he has for me and that is why he enabled to write what I wrote. He is so faithful to me. I say thank you for he made me the winner of the contest.

2.       Trinity Global Development-Had they not rolled the community Computer based program, then I would never had won this award. When I joined their worthy course, is when I got the chance to be part of the contestants for the five dollars. I just say may God always provide for the TGD family.

3.       Staff-They did a lot of work in sending the work I had submitted to them to you. They must have edited, formatted, and changed the layout and so on. This staff is a great blessing to me and my classmates. They are so friendly and I think they have been taught to be this way. Thank you for this team. They are always ready to assist where we have difficulties.

4.       Classmates-The overwhelming support my evening class and Jack, my tutor, gave me when I was at the lowest point of my life can't just be left out. I have always felt part of them, comfortable and ready to share out the knowledge. They have always worked hard with me. They received me back after the funeral and consoled me so much. Together with other classes; morning and mid-morning. I want to thank them all for their support had my class not given me peace at a time I was writing that story then I would not have been the winner. God bless them all.

5.       My guardians-they have always provided for my basic needs. That is why I take this time to appreciate them. They have always made me have a sense of belonging. God bless them all.

To sum up my appreciation, Mama Stephanie, the five dollars prize I won, I used them as follows:

1.       12.5% (sh.50) for offering on Sunday to God as thanksgiving for his faithfulness.

2.       22.5% (sh.90) to my classmate for their support just bought them cookies or biscuits, though so little. They accepted who heartedly.

3.       20% (sh.80) to the staff for their support in sharing computer knowledge with us. I just bought them some sugar and coffee sachet for their daily cup of coffee. These guys just do plenty of work to us.

4.       25% (sh. 100) to my parents who provide food daily for me on the table. Though little percentage, I could not fail to share the little with them.

5.       20% (sh.80) to buy credit for internet bundles. Having been taught about Internet and E-mailing at the Community based Training Sponsored by TGD; I intend to start checking the sites and my first stop will be texasrivers. Blogspot.Com in order to keep updated with what is happening in TGD all the activities.

Lastly, I take this time to wish You, your family and Trinity Global Development, Dell Computers Manufacturers, TGD Staff, Students of the Community based Training all the best and God's favor in the month of August and forever more. You'll always be part of me and you will remain dear to my heart.

I look forward to a lifetime association with you. I wish to be part of your big hearts that are giving hope to the many orphans and the needy and people whom you are supporting as ambassadors of hope.

Hope to continue hearing from you Goodbye and God be with you.

Yours faithfully,

Kelvin Madahana.

Old, Old Story (2003-2005) Probably Still True

Snopes says this is true:

------------------------------------------------------------

Did you ever wonder how much it costs  a drug company for the active ingredient in  prescription medications?  Some people think it must cost a lot since many drugs sell  for more than $2.00 per tablet.  We did a search of   offshore chemical synthesizers that  supply the active ingredients found in drugs  approved by the FDA.  As we have revealed in past issues of Life Extension a significant  percentage of drugs sold in the United States contain active ingredients made in other  countries.  In our independent investigation of how much profit drug companies really make we obtained the actual price of  active ingredients used in some of the most popular drugs

Since  the cost of prescription drugs is so outrageous,  I thought everyone should know about this.  It pays to shop around!  This  helps  solve the mystery as to why they can afford to put a Walgreen's on every corner.  On Monday night, Steve Wilson, an  investigative reporter for Channel 7 News in  Detroit did a story on generic drug prices  gouging by pharmacies.  He found in his
investigation that some of these generic drugs  were marked up as much as 3,000% or more.
So often we blame the drug companies for the  high cost of drugs, and usually rightfully so.  But in this case the fault clearly lies with the pharmacies themselves. For example if you  had to buy a prescription drug, and
bought the  name brand, you might pay $100 for 100  pills.
The pharmacist might tell you that if  you get the generic equivalent, they would only  cost $80, making you think you are saving $20.  What the pharmacist is not telling  you is that those 100 generic pills may have  only
cost him $10!

At the end of the report, one of the  anchors asked Mr. Wilson whether or not there  were any pharmacies that did not adhere to this practice, and he said that Costco consistently  charged little over their cost for the
generic  drugs.

I went  to the Costco site, where you can look up any  drug, and get its online price.  It says that the in-store prices are consistent with the online prices. I was  appalled.  Just to give you one example  from my own experience I had to use the drug  Compazine which helps
prevent nausea in chemo  patients.

I used the generic equivalent, which  cost $54.99 for 60 pills at CVS.  I checked  the price at Costco, and I could have bought 100  pills for $19.89 - for 145 of my pain pills, I  paid $72.57.  I could have got 150 at Costco
for $28.08.

I would like to mention, that  although Costco is a 'membership' type store,  you do NOT have to be a member to buy  prescriptions there as it is a federally  regulated substance.  You just tell them at  the door that you wish to use the pharmacy, and  they will let you in.

I am asking each of  you to please help me by copying this letter and passing it into your own e-mail, and send it to  everyone you know with an e-mail address.

Encouragement to our high school students

With so many youth in our program, our staff wanted to encourage them to make the most of the education they have the privilege to receive. We expect great things from these wonderful young men and women!

MORE LOVE OF JESUS!

MORE LOVE OF JESUS!
So you also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him. (Matthew 24)
Are you ready?

Attention: Stephanie will be unavailable from August 30-November 1 for a Media Retreat and Jesus Feasting.

In the days of Noah, things were going along as usual. People were eating, visiting, thinking about how they looked or what they should do in the future. They were oblivious to the coming danger, although perhaps some had fear where the terrible state of things was heading. There was bound to be fear, hatred, revenge, gossip, critical judgments, and inconsiderate behavior in general as each tried to love their own but protect themselves against outsiders or the bad people.
Remember the wise and foolish virgins? Some were not ready. Jesus said, ""Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour in which the Son of Man is coming." (Matthew 25) Please take a moment to read Matthew 25 (and maybe Matthew 24, if God has called you.)
What might it mean for you to watch and get ready?
First, review your life and lifestyle. Are you living as you want to be living when Jesus returns? Take stock of your activities. Is your time spent in consideration of the Kingdom of God? Who are you living for? Then you can adapt accordingly. You can look to Jesus in a fresh way and align your life to HIS PURPOSES. Everyone wants their life to have a purpose, but so often we are pursuing our own purposes as if Jesus was never going to return.
Since you do not know when He will come, how can you live as though He were going to return at any minute while also taking into account that you may live a long time? Always live an examined life. Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, mind and strength, and love those in whom you have contact in the same way that you make sure your personal needs are met (which means use some of that initiative to meet needs for other people beyond just you and yours, even actually extending to your enemies. Be merciful as your Father is merciful. And stand up to those who say they are good but are abusing others, as Jesus stood up to the Pharisees and religious leaders of the day on behalf of those abused.)
Now make sure you are encouraging others to live for Jesus and give Him their entire life, since He purchased them with His Blood that they would be reconciled to God. Some live as enemies of the cross and just pursue other gods, hobbies, recreation, and pleasures even though each sin was laid on the perfect and holy Jesus. Although we find sin within us, let us not pursue the fulfillment of wrongful desires. Let us lean into the Lord who is our Shepherd! He will lead us beside still waters and restore our soul. His yoke is easy and His burden light. He paid the price for us and we gain the power to overcome sin in our lives and live for righteousness. We cannot let our bad moods become an excuse for lashing out at others or making them pay. We have been given the victory over our flesh.
Let us do what we can to be a light in this dark world. Rather than just looking at the evil of terrorists and murderers, let us remember that anger is as murder. For those with the Holy Spirit within, we must allow Jesus to live through us because He has all patience within HIM and we are hidden with Him.
People get ready! Jesus is coming. If you should see a temple mount sharing peace agreement between Palestine and Israel, the temple will be rebuilt and you only have about seven more years of this world governmental system. I charge you to avoid the mark of the beast and take nothing upon you that would protect your identity and allow you to make purchases. He warned you to save you because you are the Beloved and His Sheep will hear His voice and live!
DISTRIBUTION IMAGE Blessings for the Children
At TGD, our core pillars are Jesus, education and food. In August, the all three of these areas were covered on distribution day at TGD's offices.
All our sponsored children, alongside their respective guardians were in attendance and each child received items to take home. Children in our home-based care each took home a Bible, cereals (corn and beans), wheat flour, cooking oil, soap and other essential sanitary items. The high school students, on the other hand, were given a Bible each and revision materials/items for some.
At the end of the day everyone walked away blessed, happy and thankful. Our TGD sponsorship program is changing lives solely for the glory of God.

BIBLES IMAGE Bibles for everyone
Different from previous months, August 2014 can also be termed the Bible month! In the distribution, all the sponsored children got each a Bible to carry home for their spiritual benefit.
A statement excerpt from Mathew 4:4, Jesus confirmed that not only revolves on bread alone, but also by the foundation lay down in our hearts by the word of God.
These little ones each got a Bible well thought out to suit their ages, interests and understanding. The younger children for instance bagged home children Bibles, senior children got bibles for senior students and high school students got   bibles designed for high school learners.
Through these brooks of Living Waters, may He, the potter, shape the best out of their character and being

TALK IMAGE Let's talk
Our team players convened a gathering with our High school sponsored children and had much to share with them. Among the agendas were:
  • Tips for better performance in school
  • Building up on their social skills
  • Listening to challenges they log heads with in school
  • Motivation for self esteem
  • Future plans of TGD
The team further touched on why they should avoid peer pressures and insisted on abstinence until marriage.
It was great feedback to learn that most of them are confident enough to speak in public eloquently. On the surprise list was also that most of them hold student leadership slots in their schools e.g. Vivian is a student's president in her school.
God is raising these young ones for greater heights!

JIGGER DISINFECTION IMAGE Jigger disinfection
Jiggers are a major problem in most parts of rural parts of western Kenya. Those attacked most are children who play and walk bare feet in unhygienic places least conscious of the danger lurking in such places.
Esther's family is a beneficiary of our efforts to get rid of these parasites. Two months ago our team visited them and delivered jigger disinfectants to the family. Current report indicates that the organisms are now under control and soon will be done away with completely.
Thank you so much for the donations that went towards realizing this difference.
 Blessings to you all!

The Jewish Boycott, a few facts

Some  time ago, Iran's Supreme Leader Grand Ayatollah Ali Khamenei
Urged the Muslim World to boycott anything and everything that
Originates from the Jewish people. This cry has now been taken up by Hamas and other Muslims world-wide!
In response, Meyer M Treinkman, a pharmacist, out of the kindness of
His heart, offered to assist them in their boycott  as follows:

"Any Muslim who has Syphilis must not be cured by  Salvarsan discovered by a Jew, Dr. Ehrlich. He should not even try to find  out whether he has Syphilis, because the Wasserman Test is the discovery  of a Jew. If a Muslim suspects that he has Gonorrhea, he must not seek  diagnosis, because he will be using the method of a Jew named  Neissner.

"A Muslim who has heart disease must not use Digitalis, a  discovery by
A Jew, Ludwig Traube.

Should he suffer with a  toothache, he must not use Novocaine, a
Discovery of the Jews, Widal and  Weil.

If a Muslim has Diabetes, he must not use Insulin, the result  of
Research by Minkowsky, a Jew. If one has a headache, he must shun
Pyramidon and Antypyrin, due to the Jews, Spiro and Ellege.

Muslims  with convulsions must put up with them because it was a Jew,
Oscar Leibreich, who proposed the use of Chloral Hydrate.

Arabs must do  likewise with their psychic ailments because Freud,
Father of  psychoanalysis, was a Jew.

Should a Muslim child get Diphtheria, he  must refrain from the
"Schick" reaction which was invented by the Jew,  Bella Schick.

"Muslims should be ready to die in great numbers and  must not permit
Treatment of ear and brain damage, work of Jewish Nobel  Prize winner,
Robert Baram.

They should continue to die or remain  crippled by Infantile Paralysis
Because the discoverer of the anti-polio  vaccine is a Jew, Jonas Salk.

"Muslims must refuse to use  Streptomycin and continue to die of
Tuberculosis because a Jew, Zalman  Waxman, invented the wonder drug against this killing  disease.

Muslim doctors must discard all discoveries and  improvements by
Dermatologist Judas Sehn Benedict, or the lung specialist,  Frawnkel,
And of many other world renowned Jewish scientists and medical  experts.

"In short, good and loyal Muslims properly and  fittingly should remain
Afflicted with Syphilis, Gonorrhea, Heart Disease,  Headaches, Typhus,
Diabetes, Mental Disorders, Polio Convulsions and  Tuberculosis and be
Proud to obey the Islamic boycott."

Oh, and  by the way, don't call for a doctor on your cell phone because
The cell  phone was invented in Israel by a Jewish engineer.

Muslims made?"

The Jews are NOT  promoting brainwashing children in military training
camps, teaching them  how to blow themselves up and cause maximum
deaths of Jews and other  non-Muslims.

The Jews don't hijack planes, nor kill  athletes at the Olympics, or
blow themselves up in German  restaurants.

There is NOT one single Jew who has destroyed a  church.

There is NOT a single Jew who protests by killing  people. The Jews
don't traffic slaves, nor have leaders calling for Jihad  and death to all the Infidels.

Perhaps the world's Muslims  should consider investing more in standard education and less in blaming  the Jews for all their problems.

Muslims must ask 'what can they do  for humankind' before they demand that humankind respects  them.

Regardless of your feelings about the crisis between Israel  and the
Palestinians and Arab neighbors, even if you believe there is more
culpability on Israel 's part, the following two sentences really say
it all:

'If the Arabs put down their weapons today, there would be no  more
violence.

If the Jews put down their  weapons today, there would be no more
Israel."

Benjamin Netanyahu:  General Eisenhower warned us. It is a matter of history
that when the  Supreme Commander of the Allied Forces, General Dwight Eisenhower, found
the victims of the death camps he ordered all possible photographs to be  taken, and for the German people from
surrounding villages to be ushered through the camps and even made to bury the dead.

He did this  because he said in words to this effect: 'Get it all on
record now - get  the films - get the witnesses - because somewhere
down the road of history  some idiot will get up and say that this
never  happened'

Recently, the UK debated whether to remove The Holocaust  from its
school curriculum because it 'offends' the Muslim  populationwhich
claims it never occurred.

It is not  removed as yet. However, this is a frightening portent of
the fear that is  gripping the world and how easily each country is
giving into it.

It is now more than 65 years after the Second World War in  Europe
ended.

Now, more than ever, with Iran, among others,  claiming the Holocaust
to be 'a myth,' it is imperative to make sure the  world never forgets.

This e-mail is intended to reach 400 million  people. Be a link in the
memorial chain and help distribute it around  the world.

A morning in the life of a TGD computer course instructor

On Mondays I wake up early in the morning at 6:00, say a short prayer as a good start for the day. Thereafter I begin my revision of the topic/package I would be teaching (computer packages) students that I handle at TGD.
I take 20minutes revising and from there when it is then 6:20, i begin cleanliness. I start by sweeping my room and after ensuring it is clean, the following task is to mop out dust from chairs and table. This takes me 10min to ensure my room is well arranged.  Thereafter, I rash to the kitchen for the preparation of tea as my breakfast. As it boils, I then walk to the bathroom so as to have a shower. This helps reduce wastage of time as waiting until breakfast is ready then I shower is slower.
After bathing, i pour tea in a cup and start dressing as it cools down. When done with dressing, next is taking tea and my last task is brushing my teeth. I take my bag then walk to Trinity Global Development. My departure time is 7:20 while my arrival time at job is 8:00. Waking up early makes me not be late at job hence enter class on time.
At my work place I organize students to start cleanliness for 30min, arrange machines (computers) in class and ensure all computers are working properly. The remaining 30min is for the student's revision and by 9:00am that's when the lesson starts and stops at 11:00am for the next class which goes up to 1:00 o'clock which is led by another tutor.

From 2012: The Rivers Family Children

Hear their hearts....

From a previous report--here are some requests from sponsored children when
visited at their home:

We delivered a mattress, Bed covers and a blanket to one of the sponsored
children. She was extremely happy because she initially had rugs for
bedding.

We also found out some of the essential things she was missing i.e.
casual clothes, school shoes, socks, exercise books, writing pens, math aid
text book, a petticoat, panties, School sweater, a watch, a dozen of cups, a
dozen of plates and a geometrical set.

Desires some seeds such as kale among other vegetables so that she can come
up with a garden on her own.

She also said that she has one uniform and if given another she would highly
appreciate.

Loves taking care of the goats she was given and the chicken.
Another girl said:
She needs a school uniform, geometrical set, writing pens and pencils,
4 tins of maize and 3 of beans for their lunch program, a petticoat,
panties, a school sweater, casual clothes, exercise books (6, 120 pages and
1 A4 exercise book) and a pair of casual shoes.

She also requested for some seeds for planting.

Brian writes of personal day time activities

I am asking Brian to write reports to me about his daily life in Kenya. I want to expand his writing abilities and English. We get the benefit of enjoying learning more about life of another brother in the Lord living in a different land but experiencing God and His Humanity all around and just living life. Thanks to Brian for sharing!

During my leisure, I spend my time listening to music composed by different authors mostly gospel musing. This is because I have passion and talent in music. Listening to music from different authors helps me more improve in music, composing good song hence becoming good singer. Sometimes I gather my friends those interested in music and other talents where we discourse how we can grow in them. I take time teaching them vocals and singing with instrument accompaniment. Besides, I teach them playing music instruments like keyboard and guitar.Having interest in music production, I visit some music production studios where I gain more skills and knowledge on music production. When am alone after doing my work and free, I try to apply what I learnt by creating my on beats using a keyboard and sometimes a computer.

August 2014 Distribution

Jack reports:

We had a successful distribution on Saturday. My main focus was on the
spiritual aspect of both the sponsored and the guardians. I delivered the
message to them that they may give thanks to God instead of us. That God is
so faithful to meet their needs even without TGD.

High schoolers were the main focus. This group need to know Christ. And His
love and amazing grace. We are encouraging them to join Christian unions in
their schools and also to participate fully in their churches.

At least every child received a bible. Only a few high schoolers missed out.
Their account balances were below $300. We withdrew $50 for those high
schoolers with $300 and above. Repha, Truphosa and Fridah Wabuti received
$50 each from the wired money. Only Alice received more than $50. We
withdrew $63 from her account. She had many needs, but we couldn't get her
everything. Most of the items she needed were foodstuffs and this is what we
got her plus a bible.

For some high schoolers, our target is to get them some school items for
next term. They had given us the lists of what they need for school. We
purchased some additional items for them today. They submitted their
academic reports to us on Saturday and most of them are really trying their
best. We would like to do all we can to help them improve.

We got deworming medicine for free. Every child swallowed one tablet while
in TGD. They will be needed to do this again after three months. Praying
that their health improves

. At least every sponsored received a good quantity of food from the TGD
garden to take home.

Pray for health: Fredrick and Walter

It just pains me to see little children with such yellow eyes. Stop and say a prayer for Fredrick and Walter! May the Lord open their hearts to Jesus Christ and also may their bodies be healed here and now in this life and may their light shine eternally here and forever, in Jesus name.
